| NICK AMBROSE (CANVEY ISLAND CASTAWAYS) won this round with a fine 17 point haul which brings him within 10 points of the series leader and pretty much guarantees him yet another GP rostrum finish with just one round to go. Behind him GABRYS IRZYK (BRATISLAVA BUZZARDS) and HANS E BERGESTOL (TEESSIDE TRANSPORTERS) both scored 14 points to move up the standings and put themselves in a top 8 spot, Irzyk in fact gives himself an outside chance of snatching a top 3 finish. The Grand Final was completed by Wild Card LENNART LEVIN (WANTAGE KINGS) who was unlucky to suffer bike problems in the final heat but impressed throughout as he turned in the top wild card display of the series so far. |
| Other Semi Finalists were BRAXTON MCCHESNEY (TEESSIDE TRANSPORTERS), FILLIPPE CHONG (WANTAGE KINGS), MARTIN SHAW (WEDNESFIELD WANDERERS) and LIAM REAY (MILTON KEYNES CATS). McChesney and Shaw look likely to need to race in the GP Challenge despite their improved showings whilst Chong moves up to 7th overall and whilst not his best display 8 points was enough for Reay to hold on to top spot in the title chase, 10 points clear of Ambrose. |
| Of the rest CHRIS ADAMS (WEDNESFIELD WANDERERS) did enough to hold on to 3rd overall while 7 for PETR VERNER (WHITBY VAMPIRES) and DENIS GOMOZOV (ABERAVON GEMS) may not prove enough to get into a top 8 spot before the end of the series. HAYDEN WOOD (LANARKSHIRE LIONS) will definitely ride in the GP Challenge now after another disappointment. OLLE BJORN THORESEN (TEESSIDE TRANSPORTERS) and STEEN ERIKSEN (CANVEY ISLAND CASTAWAYS) had poor returns but hold on to top 8 places with one round remaining while MACIEJ TERCJAK (MILTON KEYNES CATS) and SCOTT BRIDGES (ABERAVON GEMS) will both have been hoping for better in their efforts to catch the top 8 but the pair do still have a chance of avoiding the GP Challenge with a strong finish. |
