JUVENILE JAUNT - RULES

STRUCTURE

1. The Juvenile Jaunt replaced the Development League from season 2012 - 13. It allows all managers to have an interest in racing below Academy League level, from the same perspective, rather than some managers having teams to run, and others only having riders to keep an eye on.

2. The Juvenile Jaunt will be split into 4 regions, North, North Midlands, South Midlands & South with each region consisting of 10 teams from the main Sim Speedway game. Each team will get the chance to host one meeting per season, the top 32 riders from the 4 different regions will qualify for the semi-finals. The top 8 from each semi-final will progress to the Grand Prix Finals to be held at the Sim Academy, NSSPA Arena & The Megano.

3. Rather than ride for teams, in small 6 heat meetings, the riders are now riding for themselves (although they can still be owned by teams), they will compete in 20 heat, 16 rider competitions throughout the season, where they are guaranteed to get 5 rides over the course of the event, rather than 3 over 6 heats as it used to be.

4. The aim of this new structure is to get all managers involved at the same level in Junior racing.

RIDER ELIGIBILITY

1. The Juvenile Jaunt is set up to allow young British riders to gain experience, no foreign riders are allowed. The only nationalities allowed are English, Scottish, Irish & Welsh or riders who hold dual nationality as long as one of the nationalities is one previously mentioned.

2. Juvenile Jaunt riders must be 16 years of age or under, there are no exceptions to this, the minimum age limit for riders in the Juvenile Jaunt is 14, although some 13 year old riders may need to be used as meeting reserves from time to time as injuries dictate.

RACING RULES

1. Any rider missing two minutes will be excluded and a reserve will take his place in the heat.

2. Any rider touching the tapes will be handicapped 15m as punishment for this offence.

3. The event director may at his discretion remove a rider who is having machinery issues, a real off night, feeling unwell, or any reason which could affect the health, safety and welfare of other riders.

                                                                                    COACHING

All managers are invited to apply for coaching of there rider. There will be 2 opportunities to send your rider for an intensive coaching session from the NSSPA coaches. This can be done at anytime during the season at your discretion. Your rider will benefit from the coaching and will receive a boost to his racing average depending on how he did at the sessions. Any manager wishing to use this facility can either use the COACHING FORM and send to the NSSPA or PM Kings Lynn Lightning from the forum.

Managers can also help their rider with regular reports and encouragement of them on the forum.

AVERAGE CONVERSION BETWEEN LEAGUES

1. Average conversion between the Juvenile Jaunt and other leagues will generally work as follows :

Any rider averaging 8.00 or over can move up to the Academy League on half his average. Riders who average 8.00 or over from the Juvenile Jaunt are eligible to move up to the Academy League. The only other reason a rider can move into the Academy League is if the rider is overage and averaging between 7.00 and 7.99. He can then move up to the Academy League on half his average.

SIGNING OF RIDERS

1. Each team will only be allowed 1 rider to take part in the Juvenile Jaunt, the rest of the riders will be unattached. Managers who lose a rider at the end of the season (whether into the Academy League, or retirement) will then be allocated an unattached replacement rider. Priority will be given to those managers who promote their own Juvenile Jaunt event on the forum.

AVERAGES

1. Averages will be calculated after 5 and 10 meetings during the Sim Speedway season. The average gained after meeting 10 will be the riders next season average. A rider must have completed at least 5 meetings to get an average.

FINANCES

1. Each team is expected to use the Sim Speedway forum to promote their event, an after meeting review as a minimum is expected from all managers with a small preference for a small preview too. This will be read by the NSSPA and each team will be awarded a financial bonus for their efforts in promoting the meeting.

2. The costs for hosting the event are all met by the NSSPA rider development fund, it does not cost managers anything to host the event.
