| A fine performance by SCOTT BRIDGES (ABERAVON GEMS) saw him win the first GP of the season and take the lead in the standings with 16 points. Behind him in the final were 3 times former World Champion NICK AMBROSE (CANVEY ISLAND CASTAWAYS), last year's runner-up HANS E BERGESTOL (TEESSIDE TRANSPORTERS) and HAYDEN WOOD (LANARKSHIRE LIONS). |
| CHRIS ADAMS (WEDNESFIELD WANDERERS) may have missed out on the Grand Final here but his 14 points was a fine return and puts him in the rostrum places at this early stage. Other riders impressing enough to make the Semis, but not the final step, here were DENIS GOMOZOV (ABERAVON GEMS), defending champion LIAM REAY (MILTON KEYNES CATS) and BRAXTON MCCHESNEY (TEESSIDE TRANSPORTERS), the latter on home shale of course. |
| American Wild Card RICKY ANTUNOVICH (ZAGREB ZEBRAS) gave the home fans some cheer with a good performance too although the rest of the field were cut adridt a little and finished at least 4 points away from making the latter stages. So we are underway for another season with some familiar faces at the top but there's still all to race for over the next 7 rounds and we await the Danish GP in 3 weeks time. |
