The Grand Prix Qualifiers take place over the season under the following format.

 

National Semi Finals

The national finals are grouped as Australasian, British, European, American, Polish and Scandinavian.  The top 32 riders from each 'nation' compete with the top 8 from each qualifying to the finals.  These competitions are open to all riders, whether currently competing in the Grand Prix series or not.

 

National Finals

The top 5 non-GP riders will qualify from each of the 6 finals to the GP Challenge Semi Finals.  See GP Challenge section below for the route taken by current GP riders.

 

GP Challenge Semi Finals

These will take place in weeks 20 and 22.  The 30 qualifiers from the national finals will be joined by 2 Wild Card selections.  The top 4 riders from each meeting will qualify to the GP Challenge.

 

GP Challenge

This meeting takes place at the end of the season and is made up as follows:

7 riders finishing 9th to 15th in the current GP series

8 qualifiers from the GP Challenge Semi Finals

1 Wild Card selection

The top 7 riders qualify for the following season's GP series.

 

GP SERIES

8 riders finishing 1st to 8th in the current GP series

7 riders qualifying from the GP Challenge

1 Wild Card selection in each round
